Resumo: A experiência das Reduções Jesuíticas dos Guarani consolidada nos remanescentes missioneiros sempre suscitou muitas indagações. Os múltiplos olhares e significados atribuídos a esse patrimônio ao longo do tempo por diferentes atores, desde os próprios jesuítas, viajantes do século XIX, pesquisadores, escritores e, mais recentemente, os gestores do patrimônio cultural brasileiro e mundial têm buscado respostas sobre os reais interesses da empreitada da Companhia de Jesus na América e suas consequências, possibilitando a produção de conhecimento e uma maior valorização das Reduções, quer em sua dimensão material ou imaterial. Este estudo pretende contribuir com esse processo de valoração, a partir de uma perspectiva que considera, além da materialidade do Sistema de captação e abastecimento de água nas Reduções Jesuíticas dos Guarani, a sua representação no presente como parte de um conjunto que caracteriza a experiência histórica missioneira. Investigando sobre como se configurava e em que medida foi compreendido esse sistema nas ações de valorização e patrimonialização dos sítios missioneiros, a presente pesquisa propõe uma breve cronologia sobre como se deu e foi sendo ampliado o conhecimento inicial sobre o Sistema de captação e abastecimento de água, particularmente na Redução de São Miguel Arcanjo. Tendo por base estudos realizados no Parque da Fonte Missioneira e a pesquisa sobre os modos antigos de utilização das nascentes de água pela população da Vila de São Miguel entre as décadas de 1940 e 1980, buscou-se entender os significados atribuídos a essas fontes de água no período. Traçando uma breve cronologia das ações de preservação ocorridas no Sítio Histórico de São Miguel Arcanjo, a partir das políticas públicas de gestão do patrimônio cultural, estudou-se em que medida essas estruturas foram consideradas no processo de valorização dos sítios missioneiros. Por fim, e como exercício de análise comparativa, foram estudadas três outras reduções (São Nicolau, São João Batista e Santa Ana), escolhidas por preservarem vestígios arqueológicos dos Sistemas de captação e abastecimento de água e por já terem sido objetos de estudos arqueológicos específicos, a fim de se verificar a existência de uma tipologia comum a essas estruturas.

The system for capturing and supplying water in the Guarani jesuit Reductions: The case of Sao Miguel Arcanjo.

Abstract: The experience of The Jesuit Missions of the Guaranis consolidated in the remains of the settlements and the meanings assigned to them always provoke many questions. The several views and meanings attributed to the missionary heritage over time by different actors, from the Jesuits themselves, travelers of the 19th-century, researchers, writers and more recently the managers of the Brazilian and World cultural heritage have sought answers about the real interests of Society of Jesus’s undertaking in America and its effects, enabling the production of knowledge and to impruve the valuation of the reductions, whether in its material or immaterial dimension. This study intends to contribute on this process of valuation, under a perspective that looks at beyond the materiality of the System of collection and water supply in the Jesuit Reductions of Guaranis and its representation in the present as a part of a set that mark the historical experience of the Missions. Investigating how was configured and in what extent was understood that system in the actions of valuation of the missionary site, this research proposes a brief chronology about how was being enlarged the initial knowledge abaout the System of collection and water supply, specially in the São Miguel Arcanjo Reduction. Based on studies conducted in Parque da Fonte Missioneira and the research on the old manners of use watershed for the population of São Miguel Village between the 1940s and 1980s, we attempt to understand the meanings assigned to these watershed in the period. Charting a brief chronology of the preservation actions that took place in the Historical Site of São Miguel Arcanjo, from the public policy management of cultural heritage, it was studied to what extent these structures were considered in the valuation process of missionaries sites. Finally and as a comparative analysis exercise were studied three other reductions (São Nicolau, São João Batista e Santa Ana), selected by preserving archaeological remains of the System of collection and water supply and have already been specific archaeological studies objects in order to verify the existence of a common standard.
